As a textile design student you would assume that I would consider myself a designer or creator or maker, however, since starting my placement year I am not sure as to what I am in the creative industry. the only thing I know for sure is that I have a deep passion and desire to be in the creative world of art, design, fashion, entertainment and enjoyment. I don’t really remember wanting to do anything else as a career but also as a way of life. I think as I have more exposure to the creative world, I don’t think I am inherently a hyper creative person. as I am dyslexic I was always told that generally I am more creative, which has then lead me to compare creativity. this may be the case as I am still trying to find my place in the industry and feel intrigued and drawn to all areas. I wish to find my place but also what I excel at and make an impact on. I think this drive and passions comes from the fact that my parents are both very career driven and ambitious. This also means that I have the freedom and support to explore the creative industry and play, rather than stick to one money making job and never question what I am actually passionate about. This is such a privilege and motivates me to be the best I can and think big!
